How it works

1

Today: invoice due dates

Every issued and received invoice has its due date watched; overdue invoices stand out in the overview.

2

Today: free tax calendar

The tax calendar on this site lists the VAT filing deadlines and thresholds of Malta and every other EU country.

3

Planned: reminders by chat

Reminders on WhatsApp ahead of VAT returns, EC sales lists and tax advances, based on your situation.

4

Planned: figures included

With each reminder, the figures you need from the app, such as the VAT overview for the period.

A forgotten deadline is the most expensive mistake

A late return means a penalty, a late advance means interest, and in some countries a missed payment can cost you a simplified tax scheme altogether. Yet these are not complicated obligations, only ones you must not forget. The tax calendar also changes from year to year and what applied last year may not apply this year.

Reminders in Kontevia will therefore be tied to the current rules of Malta and to your situation: a business that is not VAT registered will get no VAT reminders. Until they are available, use the free tax calendar and your accountant's calendar.

A reminder with figures, not just a date

A reminder that only says 'the deadline is in a week' solves half the problem. The other half is having the figures ready at that moment. Because Kontevia keeps documents extracted continuously, the planned reminders will come together with what you need for the deadline, such as the VAT overview for the period or the income and expense summary.

The aim is that reacting to a reminder takes minutes: check, hand over to your accountant or file.

Frequently asked questions

Which deadlines can Kontevia watch?

Today, the due dates of your invoices. Reminders for VAT returns, EC sales lists, income tax and contributions according to the calendar of Malta are planned. The free tax calendar already lists the VAT deadlines.

When will the reminders arrive?

The plan is reminders on WhatsApp ahead of each deadline, so there is time to prepare the figures or hand them to your accountant. They are not available yet.

Will reminders account for weekends and public holidays?

The planned reminders will follow the rule of Malta for deadlines falling on a weekend or public holiday. Until then, check the rule in the free tax calendar or with your accountant.

Does it replace the tax calendar from my accountant?

It complements it. Statutory VAT deadlines are in the free tax calendar today and reminders are planned. Specific situations, such as an instalment plan with the tax authority, remain an arrangement with your accountant.
