Peppol e-invoicing
Peppol is the EU-wide network for exchanging structured invoices. Support for Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 in Kontevia is planned. Today Kontevia issues PDF invoices with a payment QR code and reads the PDF invoices you receive.
StatusPlannedHow it works
- 1
Today: issue an invoice in Kontevia as usual and send it as a PDF with a payment QR code.
- 2
Today: invoices you receive as PDF are forwarded to your Kontevia inbox and booked like any other document.
- 3
Planned: alongside the PDF, Kontevia produces a Peppol BIS 3.0 UBL file checked against EN 16931.
- 4
Planned: sending and receiving through a Peppol access point, so structured invoices arrive and leave without files.
What is transferred
- Seller and buyer identifiers (VAT ID, Peppol participant ID)
- Invoice lines with quantities, unit prices and VAT categories
- Totals, due date and payment reference
- PDF visual copy attached as an embedded document
Frequently asked questions
Do I need my own Peppol access point?
Kontevia does not send or receive over Peppol yet, so there is nothing to connect today. Peppol support, including delivery through an access point, is on the roadmap.
Is Peppol the same as my national system?
Not always. Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and the Baltic countries rely on Peppol for exchanging e-invoices. Italy (SdI), Poland (KSeF), Hungary (NAV) and Romania (e-Factura) run their own platforms. Kontevia connects to none of these systems yet; support is planned country by country.
Which format will Kontevia produce?
The plan is Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 in UBL 2.1, the EN 16931 compliant profile used across the network. Today Kontevia produces PDF invoices only.
